Liquid Paint Specialist - Weekend Warrior Shift (Full-Time OR Part-Time Option Available!)

The liquid paint coating department is responsible for in-house operations of applying decorative and functional liquid paint coating finishes onto various metal refrigerator and freezer parts. This department’s responsibilities include developing processes, determining application procedures, and liquid painting new product development and production parts to meet the company’s demand. The Liquid Paint Specialist will be responsible for operating the paint booth equipment to meet production requirements. They will work underneath the department supervisor to ensure production goals are achieved. Training and in-house certification will be provided for this specific position to the selected candidate(s).
Responsibilities:Position Collaborates With:
This position collaborates with other production team members in the T-11 body shop area, the operations department, and production engineering.
Primary Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to):
- To apply the liquid paint in the paint booth coating system by:
- Operating specialized application equipment.
- Proper cleaning and preparation of areas to be painted.
- Priming, sanding, and masking surfaces that have been repaired.
- Mixing primers, paints and clearcoats as needed.
- Apply new liquid paint finish to cabinets or parts that have been restored to new condition and to new residential cabinets, meeting all expected quality standards.
- Create a color match paint based on provided formulas. Modify as needed.
- Wet sand and polish freshly painted surfaces as needed.
- Filling and labeling bottles of touch up paint for internal and external customers.
- Appling excellent judgment and have the ability make decisions independently as well as communicate issues to the department lead and supervisor.
- Monitoring the paint booth and Nitro-Therm system functions and make process adjustments as needed.
- Collaborating with production and maintenance personnel to ensure preventative maintenance is performed.
- Follow a daily, weekly, and monthly paint booth and mix room cleaning schedule.
Qualifications/Education/Skill Requirements:
- Required:
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments, take direction, and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to produce quality products consistently.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- 3-5 years’ experience with liquid paint applications in both primer and liquid paint.
- Ability to mix and modify paints if there is an issue with matching the original color using previous experience and deductive reasoning.
- Preferred:
- Background in automotive painting in a body shop environment.
