Location: Fresno, CA | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $20–$22 per hour (BOE)
• Full-time
• W2 employment | Temp (possible conversion)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30a – 5:30p PST
• Rotating weekend coverage required
ROLE IMPACT
The Licensed Pharmacy Technician – PBM Support serves as a key resource in supporting medication access by assisting with pharmacy claims, benefit verification, and prior authorization inquiries. This role ensures patients experience minimal disruption in receiving medications through accurate documentation, compliant communication, and timely issue resolution.
Success in this position is defined by service quality, claims accuracy, documentation standards, and maintaining HIPAA compliance in all interactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as a licensed pharmacy resource handling inbound inquiries from pharmacies, providers, and patients regarding pharmacy claims and prior authorizations
• Research and resolve pharmacy claim rejections and benefit-related issues to ensure medication access
• Explain pharmacy benefit coverage, eligibility, and plan details clearly and professionally
• Accurately document all case activity within the ticketing system in accordance with compliance standards
• Escalate complex clinical or operational issues to pharmacists or internal support teams as appropriate
• Support omni-channel communication (phone, email, chat) and assist with pharmacy outreach initiatives as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required
• Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing (any state accepted; PTCB not required)
• 2+ years of pharmacy, PBM, healthcare operations, or high-volume customer support experience
• Strong understanding of pharmacy claims processing or prior authorization workflows preferred
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Prolonged computer use with regular operation of keyboard, mouse, phone, and standard office equipment
• Primarily sedentary role with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in PBM, managed care, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare operations
• Familiarity with pharmacy claims processing and third-party billing
• High-volume healthcare call center experience
• Strong documentation accuracy and attention to compliance standards
