A respected National Law Firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Employment Law Legal Assistant to join their team on a contract basis, with the potential for a full-time opportunity based on performance and firm needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting litigation attorneys, particularly within employment law, and must be highly skilled in e-filing in both state and federal courts.


Position: Legal Assistant - Employment Law 
Location: Galleria
Contract: Indefinite Contract (potential to convert to full-time based on performance)
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Parking: Free
Dress Code: Business Casual 


Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour, and wrongful termination cases.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, EEOC/TWC position statements, and client correspondence.
  • Perform state and federal e-filings accurately and within strict court and agency deadlines.
  • Manage and maintain attorney calendars using Milana or similar legal calendaring systems, including tracking court dates, mediation deadlines, depositions, and agency response timelines.
  • Organize, maintain, and retrieve case files within the iManage document management system.
  • Track litigation deadlines, maintain case dockets, and assist with trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation.
  • Coordinate with clients, HR representatives, opposing counsel, court personnel, and government agencies (EEOC, TWC, DOL) as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Paralegal supporting Employment Law attorneys.
  • Experience supporting litigation in federal and state courts, including administrative agency proceedings (EEOC, TWC, DOL).
  • Proficiency in state and federal e-filing systems
  • Experience with Milana (or similar calendaring system) and iManage preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced employment litigation practice.
  • Professional, discreet demeanor with the ability to work independently and handle confidential workplace matters with sensitivity.
