Job Details

This is an excellent opportunity for a full-time Legal Assistant to join a highly regarded litigation team in a dynamic office environment. The individual in this role will support attorneys in defending civil litigation matters, including auto liability, trucking, and general liability cases. This is a hands-on position that requires close collaboration with both clients and internal team members.

Responsibilities:

Maintain attorney calendars, including tracking trial and discovery deadlines

Schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings

Assist with billing processes, including time entry and invoice submission

Manage case files from opening through closing, ensuring organization and accuracy

Draft and prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and reports under attorney supervision

Organize and analyze case materials, including medical records, contracts, and discovery, and prepare summaries and chronologies

Prepare and track subpoenas and other records requests

Perform additional administrative and legal support tasks as needed

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a legal assistant supporting litigation, preferably in a defense-side, high-volume law firm environment

Experience with state court filings, including e-filing systems, required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently

High school diploma or equivalent required
