St. Mary's University of San Antonio, a private, Catholic and Marianist university invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure line position in the Department of Biological Sciences at the rank of Lecturer beginning August 2026. We are seeking a life scientist with teaching expertise at the university level to teach Anatomy and Physiology I & II lectures and labs for primarily nursing and exercise & sports science (EXSS) majors, and other courses in the department as needed. The successful candidate will have a full teaching load of four sections (lectures and labs) each semester.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related life science discipline
  • Experience teaching undergraduates at the university level
  • Ability to engage students using best-practice, evidence-based pedagogy
  • Ability to effectively use the university's LMS and instructional technologies to organize coursework and support student success

Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections (lectures and labs) per semester with a primary teaching responsibility of Anatomy and Physiology I and II lectures and labs for nursing and EXSS students
  • Work collaboratively with biological sciences, EXSS, nursing, and other department faculty to achieve standard curriculum outcomes
  • Teach other courses in biological sciences as assigned
  • Faculty mentoring and academic advising for students in the department
  • Engage in service at the department, school, University, and community levels
  • Contribute to the University's Marianist educational mission (https://marianistuniversities.org/)

Class sizes in the department are small with an average student-faculty ratio of 17:1.
