Locations: Dublin, OH
Duration: 6+ Months with Possible Extension.
Salary Range: $45 - $50/Hour on W2 Only (All inclusive) Applicant must be willing to work on W2.
Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Techno-Functional Architect to support Cardinal Health’s NDC/UPC Reform initiative. This individual will be responsible for leading enterprise discovery, mapping current-state system flows, assessing integration impacts, and ensuring architectural alignment across SAP, WMS, EDI, and serialization platforms. This role is a key part of the Defined Concept phase and will help deliver a Blueprint-ready scope and architecture foundation for regulatory modernization, with a focus on NDC/UPC reform and serialization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Enterprise Discovery & Workshop Leadership
- Lead structured workshops across IT and Business domains to facilitate collaboration.
- Drive cross-functional architectural discussions to align various teams on project goals.
- Identify upstream and downstream system dependencies that impact integration.
- Capture risks, constraints, and integration gaps across multiple domains.
- Drive consensus on scope boundaries to ensure project alignment.
- Document end-to-end data flows for NDC/UPC transformation and integration.
- Analyze integration points, focusing on:
- SAP Item Master impacts.
- Manhattan WMS integrations.
- EDI (850/856/810) transaction dependencies.
- EPCIS/serialization event structures.
- Identify data transformation, padding, and field-length constraints across systems.
- Produce system interaction diagrams to communicate flow impacts.
- Assess schema changes needed across platforms to support regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate integration payload impacts (e.g., REST, EDI, Kafka).
- Identify risks related to external trading partner transactions and propose mitigation strategies.
- Define high-level transition strategies to move from current-state to future-state architecture.
- Lead solution discussions with domain architects and technical teams.
- Evaluate different technical solutions (e.g., refactor vs middleware) to meet business goals.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks like DSCSA and FDA rules.
- Contribute to Blueprint-level solution recommendations, ensuring architecture supports compliance.
- Enterprise Impact Map capturing the full scope of system and integration impacts.
- Integration Dependency Matrix to highlight key touchpoints and their relationships.
- Current-State and Future-State Data Flow Diagrams to represent system transformation.
- Risk Register identifying potential technical and regulatory risks.
- Blueprint-Level Solution Recommendation to outline architectural changes and future-state.
- Executive-Ready Architecture Summary for senior leadership communication.
Required Experience:
- 12+ years in Supply Chain IT or Pharma IT, with a deep understanding of technical architecture and integration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP ECC/S4, EDI (X12), WMS Integrations, and Serialization/EPCIS systems.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and the field-level impacts of data changes.
- Proven experience leading enterprise architecture workshops and facilitating cross-functional discussions.
- Experience managing and communicating at the Director/VP level, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory-driven programs like DSCSA, serialization, and FDA compliance.
Preferred Skills:
- Domain knowledge in pharma distribution and the pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Experience with Manhattan WMS/MAWM and related supply chain platforms.
- Familiarity with GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) and NDC (National Drug Code) standards.
- Ability to draw clear architecture diagrams using tools like Lucidchart or Visio.
- Strong documentation discipline, ensuring clear and concise reporting of technical and business information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain IT, pharma IT, or regulatory-driven projects, with a focus on integrations and architecture design.
