Job Title: Lead Teacher Intern
Location: Stafford, VA (Doc Stone)
Pay: $14.00/hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 12-week internship
Overview:
Children of America is seeking college students in Early Childhood Education for a hands-on internship. Under the guidance of a Lead Teacher and School Director, interns will gain classroom leadership experience, assist with curriculum planning, and support child development in a licensed childcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily programming and developmental activities for children
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Assist with documentation, family communication, and classroom organization
- Collaborate with staff and participate in training and mentorship sessions
- Uphold COA's values, policies, and licensing standards
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Early Childhood Education or related college program
- Strong interest in child development and classroom leadership
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit to full-time schedule with flexibility for school needs
- Completion of background checks and health screenings required
- CDA preferred; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
Supervision & Support:
Interns are always supervised and receive regular feedback and mentorship. They are never left alone with children.
