TempExperts is actively seeking an experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician to oversee the daily operations of a busy pharmacy department and support organizational initiatives. This leadership role is essential in guiding a team of pharmacy technicians, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of medications, and upholding regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative partner to operations leadership, dedicated to driving continuous improvement and delivering exceptional patient care.
Must have previous manager or lead position and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for filling and preparing prescription orders in a timely manner.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to a team of pharmacy technicians, fostering professional growth and alignment with company values.
- Oversee all operational facets of the pharmacy, including medication dispensing, inventory levels, workflow processes, and integration with broader business functions.
- Partner with operations leadership to design and implement standardized processes that enhance efficiency and quality across departments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, finance, compliance, and IT teams to ensure pharmacy objectives align with overall organizational goals.
- Monitor key operational and productivity metrics, prepare regular reports, and identify trends or areas for improvement.
- Support patients and customers by promptly addressing questions or concerns, ensuring a high standard of service and professionalism
- Maintain proper inventory control by tracking medication levels, placing orders, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with storage protocols.
- Contribute to financial oversight by assisting in budget planning, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, staying current with industry requirements and implementing best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating current procedures, implementing new strategies, and assessing outcomes for effectiveness
- Develop and maintain emergency protocols to safeguard pharmacy operations during unforeseen events, in coordination with broader continuity planning.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Florida State Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
- Min 5+ years of pharmacy experience.
- Min 3+ years managing teams of five or more employees within a pharmacy or healthcare operations setting.
- Solid understanding of pharmacy laws and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and controlled substances.
- Manager or Lead responsibilities required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Prolonged sitting and standing in front of a computer.
- This position may require you to work long hours.
