We are seeking an experienced and reliable Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee day-to-day maintenance operations at a multifamily residential property in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and capable of leading maintenance activities to ensure the property is well-maintained, compliant, and providing a high-quality living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance for residential units and common areas

  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and mechanical issues

  • Supervise and coordinate work assignments for maintenance staff or vendors as applicable

  • Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner

  • Conduct unit turns, make-ready work, and inspections to meet company and regulatory standards

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, Fair Housing, and company safety policies

  • Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; submit purchase requests as needed

  • Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls on a rotating on-call schedule

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

  • Communicate effectively with the Community Manager regarding property needs, repairs, and capital improvements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 3-5 years of multifamily maintenance experience preferred

  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role strongly preferred

  • EPA Universal Certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)

  • HVAC, electrical, and plumbing experience required

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with work order systems and preventive maintenance programs

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
