We are currently seeking a Lead Cook to support our amazing client s culinary operations. It just so happens to be the largest social media company in the world.



The Lead Cook will prepare menus and cook in our modern, state of the art kitchens. Our ideal candidate is skilled, passionate and leads by example. Our menus change daily and focus on authentic flavors and creative inspiration.



Essential Job Functions


  • Sets up station every day
  • Goes over menus as a team and create an action plan for the day
  • Creates from-scratch dishes executing proper cooking fundamentals and techniques
  • In charge of prepping food and plating dishes according to the menu specification
  • Tastes food to ensure proper seasoning
  • Monitors product freshness and rotation using FIFO
  • Completes the appropriate logs assigned
  • Adheres to and maintains the highest safety and sanitation standards
  • Cleans as you go and cleans at the end of the day; must be a team player
  • Cleans assigned equipment and/or culinary space as assigned by GM Culinary management
  • Time Management of lunch service (ensure food is ready for service, if having an issue immediate communication to Chef or KM)
  • Mentors/leads other cooks
  • Take on a small part of ordering (I.E. Chemicals, dry storage, produce one of these areas)
  • Ownership of logs, ensure kitchen is always HAACP inspection ready
  • Contribute to menus ideas or themes
  • Deliver to KM/Chef Menu changes on a timely basis
  • Attend daily shift wrap up meeting with Chefs
  • Directs and oversees operation in the absence of Kitchen Manager and/or Chef
  • May assist the Dishwashers in cleaning dishes, pots, pans, utensils, flatware, etc, as directed
  • Follows safety and sanitation procedures in accordance to all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and the HACCP Coordinator
  • Accountable for compliance with all local, state, federal laws and regulations including those relating to food safety
  • Heavy and repetitive hand and arm motion, standing, walking, bending/twisting and balance
  • Stands for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Detect workplace hazards, navigate work areas, follow written directions, and safely operate equipment
  • Lift, push and/or move up to 50lbs
  • Safely work around hot surfaces, sharp objects and potentially wet and/or slippery floors
  • Onsite, in-person attendance is an essential function
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility and an essential function of each employee at GM Culinary


Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Assists in maintaining an organized walk-in cooler
  • May be responsible for menu writing and recipe development


MinimumQualifications

  • Proper knife cuts and safe knife handling skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate and follow standardized recipes, scale them appropriately and weigh and measure foods utilizing both standard and metric units of measurement
  • Obtain and maintain an active Food Handlers Card for the duration of employment
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Cook role preferred
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience
