Our client, a global leader in HVAC Controls and Building Automation, is seeking a Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning – Lead Field Service Technician to join their team. As a Lead Field Service Technician, you will be part of the Field Services Department supporting HVAC Controls, Commissioning, and Integration Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting ability, excellent customer-facing communication, and solid problem‑solving skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning – Lead Field Service Technician
Location: Chicago or Des Plaines, IL (70% travel to customer sites)
Pay Range: $40–$43 per hour

What’s the Job? 

  • Commission, start up, tune, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems to meet customer specifications.
  • Install, configure, and test pre-engineered software and hardware for control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Coordinate with Honeywell project managers and cross‑functional teams to support project scopes.
  • Perform third‑party integrations, backup management, customer training, and site equipment oversight.

What’s Needed?

  • Strong understanding of MSI (Master Systems Integration).
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience commissioning or servicing HVAC control systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% and work in commercial building environments.
  • Preferred: Hands‑on experience with Niagara 4 (Tridium) framework.
