Lead Bookkeeper

- Lead Bookkeeper will oversee and manage the daily operations of the bookkeeping department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for clients
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
- As a Lead Bookkeeper, you will collaborate with clients to address their bookkeeping needs and provide exceptional customer service
- Implement and maintain efficient bookkeeping processes and procedures
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices
Requirements:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required
- A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a CPA firm or similar environment
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
