Lateral Corrections Deputy

Job Description:

Enforce policies/procedures; prevent escapes; maintain order/discipline; escort to court, other appts.; provide security and supervision. Conduct preliminary inquiries into rules violations. Investigate complaints, excess noise, mentally ill; provide first aid for injury, illness, drug OD, attempted suicide victims. 

Experience: 

Must be certified through CORE or a COA.  Must be U.S. citizen, 21 yrs of age by date of hire. (Minimum age in order for a fully commissioned deputy to carry a firearm.) No felony convictions. No gross misdemeanor/misdemeanor conviction for physical harm, controlled substances. Must pass background, polygraph, psych evaluation. Hold valid WA DL.

Education:

HS diploma or GED. Keyboard skills of 20 wpm accurately.
