Laser Operator Night Shift

JOB TITLE: Laser Operator 

JOB TYPE: Manufacturing 

JOB SUMMARY  

Operators are responsible for set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. Operators must also operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements. Operators must monitor machine cutting performance and utilization.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES 

Set-up and operate laser cutting machines to produce products according to 

print and traveler requirements while monitoring machine cutting performance 

and utilization 

Operate overhead cranes, tape measures, calipers, and hand tools 

Maintain safety and quality procedures in alignment with company policies 

Operate and navigate in a windows-based computer environment 

Perform operator maintenance and other duties as assigned 

Operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements

Monitor machine cutting performance and utilization

Understand machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials

Understand start-up and shut down for laser machines

Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed

Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications

Check Quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools

Ability to operate and navigate in a windows-based computer environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES 

High School diploma or equivalent 

Basic computer skills 

Experience with CNC lathe set-up and operation (at least 1 year) 

Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment 

1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred 

High School diploma or equivalent

Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation for problem solving and analytical purposes.

Preferred previous experience operating laser machines or similar equipment
