We'll train the right person-especially someone who has some hands-on experience installing landscapes and is ready to learn the design side.
Because we're 100% employee-owned, every role matters. When the company does well, it benefits the employee-owners who make it happen.
What you'll do (and learn)
You'll meet with customers, visit job sites to take photos and measurements, and help create landscape plans and customer-ready presentations. You'll keep projects organized, communicate design details to our teams, and review project daysheets daily to stay on top of progress and follow-ups.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who brings the basics-and wants to grow:
Some field experience installing landscapes (beds/planting, mulch, edging, basic layout, etc.)
Comfortable with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Friendly, professional communication (you'll work with customers)
Organized and reliable with strong follow-through
Able to do basic math (measurements/quantities)
Valid driver's license + ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
Willingness to learn, take coaching, and grow your skills
Nice to have (not required): AutoCAD, plant identification, additional landscaping experience.
Winter requirement (important)
This is a year-round role and includes snow removal during winter weather events. Snow work can include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. During winter, landscape/design work may be limited to up to ~30 hours/week, with remaining hours assigned to snow and other winter work.
Why Barnes?

Paid training and a clear path to grow your skills
Full-time, year-round stability
Overtime may be available/required based on workload (including peak season and snow events)
