Experience is a plus, but we are also willing to train. Familiarity with Carslon GPS, Carlson software, and robotic total stations is a big plus. A valid drivers license and clean driving record are required. 3-5 years of field experience is desired.
Daily job duties include:
1) Read email instructions for the day and travel to job site
2) Set-up GPS or Robot and collect data or perfrom stakeout as directed
3) Keep thorough field notes
4) At the end of the day, download data and scan filed notes and photos to job folder and send a brief report to the PLS
If you like the outdoors, this job is the perfect way to see different parts of North Central Idaho. We are a small land surveying company looking for a survey party chief, but also willing to train somone who has surveyng experience. That is why the wage rate varies so much.
From a survey standpoint, we do it all - boundaries, cadastral, topo, construction staking, etc. Some travel to Montana, Washington and South Idaho is required, but only for 3-4 weeks of the year. We are small, verstile, and pretty relaxed.

Our little surveying company has been serving North Central Idaho for over fifty years. We have worked on projects big and small ranging from large Cadastral Survey conracts with the BLM to staking bolt locations on the face of Dworshak Dam. We do a lot small jobs so crews are often at a different location every day. Our clients are loyal and we gerenate msot new work by reputation and word of mouth.
We value work-life balance and try to keep work hours manageable. However, during the summer cosntruction we have a month or two than can be more deamnding than normal. We encpourage professional growth and have helped six works towards licensing.
