RF Lab Technician / Lab Manager
Location: Redmond, WA
Type: Contract

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented RF Lab Technician / Lab Manager to support day-to-day lab operations, equipment management, and RF test activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Operations & Management
- Oversee daily operations of the RF engineering lab, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Maintain lab inventory, including tracking hardware, consumables, and test equipment.
- Manage equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with vendors for service and repairs.
- Ensure proper configuration and readiness of test stations and bench setups.
Technical Support & Testing
- Assist engineers with running RF, mixed-signal, and system-level tests across various hardware platforms.
- Set up test configurations, connect instrumentation, and support data collection as directed.
- Troubleshoot basic setup issues and escalate to engineers when needed.
- Provide hands-on lab support during development, characterization, and validation activities.
Rework & Hands-on Tasks
- Perform simple hardware rework tasks such as replacing resistors, capacitors, and other small components.
- Use standard soldering tools and hand instruments to support prototype updates and board modifications.
- Prepare test fixtures, cables, adapters, and basic assemblies.
Tools & Equipment
- Operate standard lab tools including multimeters, power supplies, and soldering stations.
- Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, VNAs) is a plus but not required—basic tool proficiency is sufficient, with training provided.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working in an electronics lab environment.
- Ability to perform basic rework tasks (e.g., component replacement, simple soldering).
- Comfort using standard hand tools and basic test equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow test procedures and engineering instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with RF concepts or prior exposure to RF test instrumentation.
- Experience managing lab spaces, equipment, or hardware inventory.
- Understanding of ESD-safe handling and lab safety practices.
- Ability to multitask and support multiple engineers in a fast-paced environment.
