Overview:

A busy entrepreneurial couple in NYC is seeking an experienced Estate Manager/Butler to oversee operations for a sophisticated, multi-property private household.  This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a background in luxury hospitality or private, five-star-level service who excels at leadership, organization, and elevating service standards.  The position is based in NYC, with travel to the Hamptons and Aspen as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior-level management of all household operations across multiple residences
  • Develop and implement comprehensive standard operating procedures and house manuals
  • Ensure seamless execution of formal and informal entertaining with a strong focus on food, wine, and table presentation.
  • Logistical organization of private Michelin level dining intimate events, dinners and gatherings at the home
  • Supervise and mentor household staff, fostering a calm, professional, and respectful environment
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and special projects from routine maintenance to capital improvements
  • Oversee inventories, including art, collectibles, and wine
  • Coordinate travel logistics, working closely with pilots, drivers, and external service providers
  • Maintain calendars, contractor access, and security protocols
  • Introduce systems for password management, documentation, and institutional knowledge retention
  • The two dads will be expecting children in the fall, so comfortable working around infants and newborn care specialists is required

Requirements:

 

  • Legal to work in the US
  • Comfortable working in a modern family environment and coordinating across multiple homes
  • Prior experience as an Estate Manager, Director of Residences, or senior hospitality leader or butler in a high-end home
  • Strong background with high-level service. Exposure to fine dining, wine programs, and formal entertaining is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to create structure: SOPs, manuals, checklists, and training programs
  • Confident leader who delegates effectively and empowers staff
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and recommend solutions
  • Discreet, professional, and respectful of privacy
  • Ability to travel between residences as needed
  • Strong technology and organizational skills
