Job description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Kitchen Manager to oversee all back of house operations for a pizza focused kitchen operating inside a brewery environment. This role is responsible for maintaining food quality, managing staff, controlling costs, and ensuring smooth day to day kitchen performance.
Position Summary
The Kitchen Manager will lead all kitchen operations in a high volume setting while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency across all aspects of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead all kitchen operations in a high volume environment
- Schedule staff and ensure proper labor coverage
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain consistency and quality
- Monitor and control food costs, waste, and portioning
- Conduct regular inventory counts and manage ordering
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Train, coach, and develop kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Collaborate with ownership and management on menu execution and improvements
- Enforce quality control standards on all dishes leaving the kitchen
- Maintain accurate reporting and communicate directly with the General Manager
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food products
- Step into service when needed to support the team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Kitchen Manager experience
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proven experience with food cost control and inventory management
- ServSafe certification or equivalent required
- Strong computer proficiency including POS systems, scheduling software, and spreadsheets
- Demonstrated leadership in a fast paced kitchen environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in pizza concepts such as wood fired, deck oven, or high volume production
- Experience working in a brewery or bar driven environment
- Menu development or specials execution
- Vendor and ordering relationship management
