Job Summary

The Junior GIS Map Analyst is responsible for performing detailed analysis, development, and maintenance of geographic datasets that support roadway safety initiatives on a national and global scale. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of geospatial data used across the organization’s products and services. The GIS Map Analyst will collaborate with internal teams to produce high-quality maps, reports, and visualizations, while contributing to the continuous improvement of GIS tools, workflows, and data processes.

• Perform analysis, creation, and maintenance of GIS data to support roadway safety and organizational initiatives.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of spatial data through effective database management and validation processes.
• Collaborate with GIS team members and cross-functional departments to develop maps, reports, and data visualizations supporting products and projects.
• Support the integration of GIS capabilities across the organization by assisting in the development and optimization of workflows.
• Troubleshoot GIS systems, software, and data-related issues to maintain operational efficiency.
• Maintain, document, and manage GIS-related metadata and data standards.
• Assist in the development of reporting and visualization tools to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in GIS processes, data quality standards, and analytical methodologies.

Required Experience:

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Strong understanding of spatial data analysis, cartographic principles, and geospatial data sources.
• Experience working with database systems and data transformation techniques (e.g., SQL, feature classes).
• Demonstrated analytical and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment and with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
