We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Junior Accountant opportunity with a national mortgage company. The Junior Accountant to support the accounting team with data entry, daily deposits, and account reconciliations. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in mortgage accounting, financial controls, and month-end processes within a fast-paced financial services environment.

The Junior Accountant is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:
Accounting & Data Entry
  • Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system.
  • Maintain organized and complete accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with processing invoices, journal entries, and routine accounting tasks.
Deposits & Cash Processing
  • Prepare and post daily deposits and ensure funds are applied correctly.
  • Reconcile deposits to bank statements and internal reports.
Reconciliations
  • Perform daily and monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist with clearing suspense accounts and identifying reconciling items.
Required qualifications for the position include:
  • 2+ years of accounting, finance, or bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, spreadsheets).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred qualifications for the position include:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in mortgage, banking, or financial services.
  • Exposure to accounting or ERP systems.
Pay Rate Range: $45,000 - $55,000 for salaried positions

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
