Jr. Staff Accountant, San Antonio, TX

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CNF Technologies is searching for a Jr. Staff Accountant in San Antonio, TX.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Administration Duties: Conduct a variety of financial, clerical, and administrative tasks in support of accounting operations. Oversee and prepare budgets; manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) entries in the ERP system (Unanet). Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensure A/P items are prepared for payment, maintain the Chart of Accounts and rate structure in Unanet, complete payroll processing with the PEO, and perform final review of expense statements.

Program Controls Support: Oversee and enter contract modifications, create and maintain projects, review funding availability for purchases, and ensure funding and budget information is accurate and adhered to at the project and subcontract level. Support Project Managers’ reporting needs, review purchase orders for accuracy within the system, and review invoices from subcontractors.

Timekeeping and PTO Support: Assist with timecard corrections, support PTO accrual issues, assist with employee profile maintenance, and assign charge codes.

ERP (Unanet) System Maintenance: Oversee and maintain labor categories (LCATs), vendors, organizational structures, and approval groups in Unanet. Grant and manage access to roles and reporting visibility.

Financial Reporting: Generate and perform analysis on standard financial reports, including Income Statements and Balance Sheets. Monitor cost rates, support the preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions, generate additional management reports as requested, and facilitate Power BI reporting.

Audit Support and Readiness: Support external financial audits by assisting with audit preparation activities, including gathering requested documentation, supporting data validation, and responding to auditor 

inquiries under supervision. Participate in audit readiness efforts and support corrective actions related to audit findings, as applicable.

DCAA/DCMA: Interface with DCAA and DCMA during audits.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•Basic understanding of cost structures

•Attention to detail

•Strong knowledge of GAAP

•Competence in Excel and Power BI

DESIRED SKILLS:

•Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS), and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•Minimum of 1–2 years of accounting experience

LOCATION / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Place of work is San Antonio, TX; however, a hybrid work opportunity is available. Occasional travel may be required, less than 10%.
