JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Manager
Immediate need: 1
Salary: $100K–$150K
Location: Birmingham, AL (must be local)
Notes:
Must be based in Birmingham, AL
Must have excellent communication skills and strong technical proficiency
Must have 1+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry
Experience in EPC is a plus
Position Title: DMC Project Manager
Supervises: Yes
FLSA: Exempt
This organization is a leading manufacturer and builder utilizing a Design Manufacture Construct (DMC) delivery model. The company specializes in producing large-scale building components that are manufactured off-site and assembled into complex structures efficiently.
With a growing team and advanced production capabilities, the organization leverages design, manufacturing, and construction integration to streamline building processes. Their mission is to deliver high-quality structures faster and more efficiently while creating long-term value for clients and communities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Manage one or multiple projects, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence
Lead project launch and planning in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Oversee projects across various delivery structures (self-perform, subcontractors, and general contractors)
Manage client relationships, communications, reporting, and change orders
Mentor and develop junior project management staff
Ensure timely and efficient project closeout
Coordinate daily with design, manufacturing, and construction teams
Collaborate with internal departments including logistics, shipping, and operations
Manage project financials and change management processes
Serve as the primary point of contact for client-side project management
Coordinate with jobsite teams on logistics, module delivery, and installation planning
Support efficient management of site operations and general conditions costs
Capture and communicate lessons learned for continuous improvement
Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and local authorities
Estimating
Support leadership in developing and improving internal estimating systems
Assign and oversee estimating tasks for project and prototype development
Develop detailed estimates, including assumptions and qualifications
Maintain and update cost databases and bill of materials
Build relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Coordinate estimating efforts across design, manufacturing, construction, and supply chain teams
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Budget / Target Controls
Support leadership in developing program launch and cost control processes
Manage estimating targets within internal systems, including:
Client proposals, contracts, and billing
Subcontractor agreements and payments
Job cost reporting and forecasting
Program / Product Launch
Lead implementation of program launch processes
Support program and design managers during launch execution
Track and report on launch milestones and progress
Develop schedules and work plans for program rollout
Analyze scope, risks, and opportunities and communicate to leadership
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong scheduling and project planning capabilities
Ability to read and interpret construction and manufacturing documents
Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
Ability to identify gaps and drive operational improvements
Up to 33% travel required
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
