Jr. Civil Engineer

Junior Level Engineer - Civil / Structural - Akron, Ohio - JOB 25-01249

Salary Range: $60K - $70K Permanent Position with Benefits.

Akron, Ohio design firm is seeking to hire a Junior Level Engineer to assist with building envelope engineering design to include entire exterior shell of a building, including walls, roof, foundation, glazing, and curtain walls.

REQUIREMENTS

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor Degree Civil Structural or Architectural
• 0 – 5 years' work experience with basic structural engineering principles, structural engineering analysis to determine structural design loads, perform member analysis, calculate section properties, calculate allowable stresses.
• Operate computer software to provide calculations with close supervision.
• AUTOCAD proficient to support engineering and drafting projects & interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Check shop drawings against architectural / structural drawings. Review / check drawings for technical content.
• Provide field support such as field observations, shop assembly observations, manufacturer visits, testing observations.
• Detail oriented / Organized
• Knowledge of deadload/windload connections with an understanding of system movements due to thermal, live-load and dead-load and system air/water integrity is a strongly preferred
