JOB SUMMARY:

The Utilities Division is looking for an experienced Streetlight Maintenance Journeyman/Lineman that will support the Utilities team with installing and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems for streetlight installations and maintenance per plans and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in streetlights.
• Install various electrical components.
• Troubleshoot secondary systems.
• Identify primary and secondary voltage on circuits.
• Safely operate a bucket truck.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered on the job site.
• Submit completed paperwork via use of an IPad.
• Follow all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience pulling wire, installing conduit, and installing fixtures.
• Journeyman/Lineman license in the state of Texas or Lineman equivalent to Journeyman.
• Basic knowledge and experience of operating hand and power tools.
• Willing to learn from supervisor the use of locator for underground wire systems.
• Experience working on streetlights and can drive a bucket truck.
• Able to size wire, read drawings, and interpret blueprints.
• Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights.
• Familiar with induced voltage and grounding procedures.
• Able to check voltage on transformers.

• Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
• Physical capability to carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor.
• Strong attention to detail and initiative to perform additional tasks when needed.
• Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Preferred: Highly skilled in troubleshooting/computer skills.
• Preferred: Valid CDL holder.
