Senior Java Full Stack Web Developer
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 70% onsite / 30% remote in the Salt Lake Valley area
Position Overview
Senior Java Full Stack Web Developer to join a software development team working onsite in Salt Lake Valley area several days a week and responsible for building and maintaining mission-critical applications for state agencies. This position will play a key role in application development, modernization, enhancement, and ongoing support of complex web-based systems. This role is best suited for a developer who is strong across both server-side and front-end development and who can contribute in an Agile environment from day one.
Experience developing web applications that support criminal justice, courts, public safety, law enforcement, corrections, parole boards, or similar government environments is highly valued. Candidates with this background will be considered especially strong fits because of the complexity, compliance, and mission-critical nature of the systems involved.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using Java and modern web technologies
Build and support back-end services, APIs, and integrations
Develop front-end components and user interfaces using Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
Collaborate with business analysts, testers, database teams, DevOps, and other developers
Participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, estimation, and team collaboration
Review technical requirements and translate them into quality code and working solutions
Support application testing, debugging, defect resolution, and ongoing maintenance
Contribute to secure, scalable, and maintainable application architecture and development standards
Help modernize legacy applications and support enhancements to existing systems
Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience in full stack web application development
Experience with Java 11 and/or 21
Experience with Spring and Spring Boot
Experience with Angular
Experience with HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
Experience working with relational databases and data-driven applications
Experience in Agile software development environments
Ability to troubleshoot issues, deliver clean code, and meet deadlines in a collaborative team setting
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JPA, Spring JDBC, and distributed application architecture
Experience modernizing or maintaining legacy applications
Experience with older technologies such as Java 8, Struts, Hibernate, jQuery, Subversion, or Ant
Experience with Postgres, Informix, SQL databases, or other relational databases
Experience converting Figma Material Design concepts into Angular-based UI
Experience developing applications in highly regulated, public sector, or mission-critical environments
Experience with application security best practices
Relevant technical certifications

The ideal candidate is a senior-level hands-on developer who can step into an Agile team and contribute quickly across the full stack.
