Job Overview:

  • Seeking a hands-on Java Market Data Developer to support its Market Data Engineering and Development team, focused on building and enhancing real-time data platforms and integrations with leading market data vendors such as Bloomberg and LSEG/Refinitiv.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based market data applications and services.
  • Integrate and support vendor market data APIs (Bloomberg B-Pipe, Refinitiv Elektron, etc.).
  • Build real-time data ingestion, normalization, and distribution pipelines.
  • Partner with trading, quant, and infrastructure teams to deliver low-latency data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to market data feeds, entitlements, and distribution.
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across market data platforms.
  • Contribute to architecture and design of next-generation market data systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of Java development experience in financial services.
  • Strong experience with market data systems and vendor APIs (Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv).
  • Hands-on experience with real-time streaming and messaging technologies (Kafka, Solace, Tibco, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of market data concepts (pricing, reference data, symbology, entitlements).
  • Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems.
  • Strong debugging and production support capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol or trading systems.
  • Exposure to Python for scripting or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and distributed systems.
