Java/Copilot developer

Role: Senior Java + AI Developer
Location: Dallas, TX
Hire Type: Contract (W2)

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture (REST/SOAP).
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML development, including integrating AI models into applications.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants) – mandatory.
• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or generative AI integrations is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of .NET technologies is a plus.

Job Description:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable features using Java-based microservices and AI-powered solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities (such as automation, recommendations, or intelligent workflows) into enterprise applications.
• Leverage AI development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity and code quality.
• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards for architecture, design, coding, and quality.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery with accountability for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ensure solutions meet product acceptance criteria while minimizing technical debt.
• Address security, compliance, and audit requirements at the team level.
• Act as a liaison for production support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine backlog items and define clear, testable acceptance criteria.
• Mentor team members on AI adoption, modern engineering practices, and development standards.
• Play a team lead role as an individual contributor, guiding design decisions and implementation strategies.
• Promote best practices including planning, estimation, code reviews, and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Identify skill gaps related to AI and backend technologies and work with leadership to address them.
