Join our team as an IV Supervisor, leading sterile compounding operations and supporting a team of technicians in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy. This role ensures workflow efficiency, staff training, and compliance with USP 797 standards while assisting pharmacists with sterile compounding, documentation, and cleanroom operations. The IV Pharmacy Technician Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining quality, regulatory compliance, and seamless medication delivery to our partner facilities. 

 

Location: 14700 Helm Court, Plymouth, MI  48170 

Salary: Starting at $140,000 (Salary based on experience level) 

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM with occasional weekend or evening coverage 

Reports To: Pharmacist In Charge

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise IV pharmacy technician staff and coordinate daily workflow to ensure department productivity, accuracy, and timely medication delivery 
  • Assist with department scheduling, including managing PTO requests, attendance tracking, and shift assignments 
  • Provide staff coaching, training, and performance feedback while supporting onboarding and development of new technicians 
  • Monitor and direct daily sterile compounding workflow, ensuring priorities and deadlines are met across shifts 
  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 standards, pharmacy policies, and all regulatory requirements related to sterile compounding 
  • Support sterile compounding operations including preparing, labeling, packaging, and documenting IV medications under pharmacist supervision 
  • Maintain accurate sterile compounding records, environmental monitoring documentation, and quality assurance processes 
  • Oversee cleanroom standards, including routine cleaning, equipment checks, and environmental monitoring within ISO classified areas 
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of supplies and equipment necessary for sterile compounding operations 
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and cross-functional teams to improve pharmacy workflow, maintain operational efficiency, and resolve process issues 
  • The ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing as required by the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy 
  • Experience in sterile compounding or IV pharmacy operations 
  • Experience working in a USP 797 compliant cleanroom environment 
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting 

 

Skills + Abilities: 

  • Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures and USP 797 standards 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workflow, and support team productivity in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and compounding records 
  • Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills when working with pharmacists and technicians 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities related to pharmacy workflow and operational challenges 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work within a sterile cleanroom environment 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform routine pharmacy operational tasks as needed
