At First Horizon, a Senior Project Management position specific to the PMO's Core Portfolio is responsible for partnering with LOB/Operations/ET, journey, agile, and steering partners in understanding strategic opportunities for efficiency and new offerings, as well as managing resulting initiatives through Discovery & Analysis and Implementation phases of the Project Management Lifecycle. Project Management resources comply to a standard of excellence in facilitation skills, senior level planning, budgeting & organizational skills, and proven execution techniques. This position will require knowledge and mastery of the below banking functional areas,
- Deposits
- Commercial and Consumer Loans
- Items Processing
- General Ledger
- Compliance
- Shared Services
The position requires mastery of business and operations processes as related to core banking channels with a deep understanding of a functional area's framework and correlation between:
- Process
- Applications
- Data
The Project Manager is responsible for managing a project team of resources that matrix to the effort from various areas within the company. Although direct administrative supervisory responsibilities are not part of this role, the ability to motivate and manage a group of resources assigned to a given project or work effort is inclusive of responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages assigned projects that may span multiple business segments, technology segments and change management partners
- Establishes formal or informal business and/or project plans including objectives, activities, and deadlines within the boundaries of company policy and legal guidelines
- Carries-out the necessary activities to complete projects
- Confers with managers, associates, customers, and third parties as needed to complete projects
- Identifies business/operational areas in need of improvement
- Identifies and works within appropriate escalation channels
- Manages all aspects of projects
- Project Plan Build Out
- Baseline Management
- Budget Management
- Weekly status reports
- Weekly ETC Management
- Committee Presentment
- Issues/Risk Management
- Compliance with PMO Program/Project Life Cycle
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally as well in written form,
- Extensive banking industry knowledge a plus,
- Extensive understanding of general technology, systems, and data schemas,
- Business Knowledge: Business Process Reengineering, Project Management, AGILE Frameworks, Risk Management,
- Technical Knowledge: Core banking systems, internal shared service systems
- Bachelor (4-year college) degree preferred,
- five-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Certifications: PMP, Agile, ITIL (Not required).
