Position Overview
  • Experienced IT Project Manager to lead technology initiatives within our law firm.
  • This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT projects that enhance legal operations, improve client service, strengthen cybersecurity, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Combines strong project management expertise with an understanding of legal industry systems and workflows.
 
Pay Rate: $78.00-$80.00/Hour
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity enhancements, and cloud migrations.
  • Partner with attorneys, practice group leaders, and business services teams to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage implementations and upgrades of legal applications such as document management systems (e.g., iManage Work, NetDocuments), practice management platforms, eDiscovery tools, and time/billing systems.
  • Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and third-party relationships.
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource allocation models, risk registers, and communication strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and legal industry standards, including secure handling of client confidential information.
  • Drive adoption and change management through stakeholder engagement and end-user training.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks/issues, and report status to firm leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, Information Security, Records, Finance, and external consultants.
  • Implement best practices aligned with frameworks such as Project Management Institute (PMI), Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of legal technology ecosystems (DMS, eDiscovery, billing systems, knowledge management).
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Experience with data governance, information lifecycle management, and legal hold processes.
