Role Overview
The IT Program Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating complex, multi-workstream technology initiatives supporting pharmaceutical research environments. This role oversees the delivery of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and related research platforms, ensuring alignment across business, scientific, and technology stakeholders. The Program Manager drives execution using Agile and Scrum methodologies while maintaining visibility into scope, schedule, risks, and dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end program delivery for IT initiatives supporting pharmaceutical research and laboratory environments.
Oversee LIMS implementations and enhancements, coordinating across multiple projects and workstreams.
Partner with research, informatics, quality, and IT stakeholders to align program objectives with business and scientific priorities.
Establish and manage program governance, including roadmap planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
Drive Agile and Scrum execution across delivery teams, ensuring consistent ceremonies, reporting, and delivery cadence.
Manage program-level timelines, budgets, resources, and vendor engagements.
Provide clear, concise status reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
Proactively identify and resolve cross-team issues impacting delivery.
Support change management, communication, and adoption efforts for research-facing systems.
Ensure alignment with compliance, validation, and regulated environment expectations.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Experience managing IT programs within pharmaceutical or life sciences research environments.
Proven experience leading LIMS implementations or laboratory platform initiatives.
Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with experience applying them at program scale.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including research, QA, informatics, and IT.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting research platforms such as biological registries or antibody-focused systems.
Familiarity with data-driven research environments and laboratory workflows.
Experience working in regulated environments with validation considerations.
Prior experience coordinating vendors and system integrators.
