Job Title: Kitchen Manager

Job Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including preparation, cooking, and plating of traditional Italian dishes such as handmade pasta, pizza, salads, and seasonal specials.
- Train, schedule, and oversee kitchen staff to maintain high standards of efficiency, consistency, and food presentation.
- Ensure adherence to authentic Italian recipes and preparation methods, monitoring portion sizes, taste, and visual presentation.
- Manage food inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships, sourcing both imported Italian products (e.g., olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano, flour) and local fresh ingredients.
- Implement and monitor cost-control systems, including waste reduction, inventory rotation, and labor management, to meet profitability goals.
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including daily inspection of kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Owner in planning menu updates, developing new recipes, and optimizing kitchen operations.
- Inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy, ensuring all ingredients meet the restaurant’s freshness and authenticity standards.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure timely service, communication, and consistency between the kitchen and dining room.
- Monitor employee performance and conduct ongoing training in Italian culinary techniques, safety, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, scheduling, and staff training to ensure compliance with company procedures and labor regulations.
- Assist in planning and executing special events or private dining functions, coordinating menus and kitchen logistics.
- Promote teamwork and a positive kitchen culture, fostering a professional and respectful work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- No minimum education required.
- 36 months of experience as a Kitchen Manager.
- Experience in managing and training kitchen staff, including scheduling, performance supervision, and quality control.
- Knowledge of Italian restaurant operations, including familiarity with authentic ingredients, menu structure, and service standards typical of Italian dining establishments.
- Proven ability to coordinate with local and international food vendors, including sourcing specialty Italian products and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and procurement planning to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations in compliance with local and federal laws.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate between back-of-house and front-of-house management.
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems such as POS, inventory, and scheduling software.
Work Schedule: Full-time. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
Location: Position is located at 1656 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139. No travel required.
Salary: $93,475.00 per year
