Job Overview:
The Enterprise Data & Analytics Technology (EDATA) organization is seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Governance Engineer to join a dynamic and distributed agile team. This role involves serving as a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, and testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing complex data governance platform solutions to ensure secure, high-quality, and well-managed enterprise data for analytics, reporting, and data science. Additionally, the role will focus on establishing and evolving governance standards, policies, and best practices, leveraging Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) - Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) and its integrations across the data ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build complex data solutions to improve data accessibility, efficiency, governance, and quality.
- Recommend and implement strategies to enhance data reliability, quality, and governance adoption.
- Collaborate within an agile team to develop and scale modern data governance platforms.
- Provide expertise in governance practices, including metadata management, stewardship workflows, and governance controls.
- Develop governance-focused services and automation for metadata ingestion, discovery, classification, lineage enablement, and governance workflows.
- Apply cloud infrastructure and automation expertise to build resilient and secure solutions.
- Lead end-to-end development, including coding, testing, debugging, and production support.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
- Support post-implementation activities, including cutover plans, issue resolution, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Governance Engineering, including consulting on complex initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) or similar tools.
- Proficiency in data engineering languages such as Python and SQL.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and agile delivery models.
- Strong understanding of security considerations in layered solutions and designs.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience with GenAI to enhance engineering effectiveness and governance practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical experience with AWS core services (e.g., CloudFormation, S3, EC2, Lambda).
- Understanding of API design concepts and best practices.
- Familiarity with data governance as part of data access controls.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of applying GenAI/LLM capabilities to engineering and data governance use cases.

Pay Range: $70- $78/hour on W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
