Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IPC Certified Trainer (CIT) to join our high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment with a defined path to Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) certification shortly after hire.
This is a measured, quality-driven search. Interim training coverage is currently in place, allowing for a thoughtful transition and onboarding process focused on long-term program excellence, technical authority, and instructional leadership.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in electronics assembly and solder workmanship, a passion for training and certification excellence, and the ability to serve as a technical authority within a mission-critical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver weekly IPC certification training (lecture and hands-on) in a classroom and lab environment
  • Teach and certify to current IPC standards, including but not limited to:
    • IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
    • J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
    • IPC-7711/7721 (Rework, Modification and Repair)
    • Space Addendums
  • Develop and deliver tailored training programs based on manufacturing and customer requirements
  • Oversee certification programs, testing, and documentation
  • Serve as a workmanship authority for electronics assembly and soldering operations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across training, quality, and manufacturing
  • Maintain current IPC certifications and stay aligned with specification updates
  • Transition to Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) via examination shortly after hire
Qualifications
  • Active IPC Certified Trainer (CIT) status required
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) certification shortly after hire
  • 7+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or high-reliability environments
  • Strong background in soldering, cable harnessing, rework, and inspection
  • Demonstrated experience delivering hands-on technical training
  • Strong understanding of aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, or mission-critical workmanship standards preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom facilitation skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and compliance
Preferred Experience
  • Prior MIT certification
  • Experience training in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Background working with AS9100, ISO, or NADCAP quality systems
  • Experience supporting production, quality, and engineering organizations

Compensation depends on experience but is typically 95k - 115k
