Overview

Electrical Assembler

ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architecture firm. We specialize in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other Technical disciplines.

In support of our client, a leading defense and aerospace engineering company, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler for their facility in Huntsville. The right candidate will build equipment and systems by assembling individual components according to engineering specifications. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assembles electrical and electronic components on wiring harnesses, power supplies, and other electrical assemblies or subassemblies
  • Reads and interprets engineering specifications from text, drawings and computer-aided drafting systems
  • Uses a variety of tools and precision measuring instruments

REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1 year experience

· IPC 620 and J-STD-001 certified

· Experience reading and understanding wiring diagrams and drawings

· Experience using crimpers to terminate wires and cables

· Experience stripping of wires

· Experience stripping and terminating shielded cables using environmental shield terminators/solder sleeves

· Experience using and terminating environmental splices

· Experience using heat guns for the termination of solder sleeves, splices, shrink sleeving, boots, etc.

· Experience routing wires properly within electrical/mechanical boxes

· Understand the polarity of the component

· Familiar with the stack up of installing hardware (screws, washers, nuts, gaskets, “O” rings, etc.)

REQUIRED TESTING

· Follow written instructions (manual route sheet, traveler, etc.) for the operations that are completed.

· Terminating shield terminators/solder sleeves, daisy chaining.

· Stripping and termination of wires and the use of stripper/crimpers for terminating wires

· Terminate an environmental splice with crimper.

· Terminate a terminal lug with crimper.

· Solder a “J” hook to a terminal with the use of a soldering iron.
