About the Opportunity

Lower middle-market private equity firms and buy-side investment groups within our network may seek analytically driven Investment Sourcing Analysts to support deal origination, pipeline development, and early-stage investment screening.

Individuals in roles like this sit at the front end of the investment process—identifying attractive companies, mapping industries, engaging founders and intermediaries, and supporting initial underwriting. The environment is typically lean and entrepreneurial, offering strong exposure to how deals are sourced and advanced through the funnel.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Development

• Identify and screen potential investment opportunities aligned with fund strategy

• Build and maintain deal pipelines using CRM systems and proprietary databases

• Source opportunities through outbound research, inbound tracking, and intermediary relationships

Market Mapping & Industry Research

• Conduct thematic and industry-level research to identify attractive sub-sectors

• Build market maps of companies, competitors, sponsors, and advisors

• Track trends, valuation benchmarks, and transaction activity

Initial Screening & Investment Analysis

• Perform high-level financial analysis and business model assessments

• Analyze company performance, KPIs, growth drivers, and unit economics

• Support development of preliminary investment theses and screening memos

Outreach & Relationship Support

• Assist in outreach to founders, management teams, bankers, and intermediaries

• Prepare introductory materials and summaries for internal and external discussions

• Track conversations and follow-ups to advance opportunities through the pipeline

Investment Team Support

• Coordinate with deal teams to transition qualified opportunities into diligence

• Support preparation of materials for internal reviews and investment committee discussions

• Contribute data-driven insights on sourcing effectiveness and pipeline quality

Education & Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of business models, valuation basics, and private equity strategies

Experience (Formal or Informal)

• Prior internships or experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, sales, or corporate development is beneficial

• Demonstrated interest in deal sourcing, market research, or investment origination
