What Is the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a Landscape Architecture Intern for our 2026 Internship Program. This position will support landscape architecture and interdisciplinary project teams on a variety of restoration, shoreline, park, and public access projects. Interns will regularly work from our Seattle Anchor QEA office and may participate in fieldwork depending on project needs.
The Landscape Architecture Intern will gain hands-on experience assisting with design tasks such as graphic production, plan and detail development, site analysis, site and design research, and preparation of presentation materials. The internship includes a defined project aligned with the intern's academic focus, as well as opportunities to collaborate with engineers, scientists, and senior- and principal-level landscape architects. Through this experience, interns will gain exposure to professional environmental consulting and develop a strong foundation in applied landscape architecture practice.
What Are We Looking For?
Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field related to Landscape Architecture(urban design, landscape architecture design and planning, sustainability, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D, SketchUp, Lumion, and ArcGIS is preferred but not required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interpret and apply technical information
Excellent organizational skills
Project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines
Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
Balance of a professional attitude while having fun
What Are the Responsibilities?
The Landscape Architecture Intern will complete a defined capstone project with assistance from senior landscape architects, engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:
Assist with landscape architecture tasks including site analysis, concept development, plan and detail production, and preparation of presentation and public outreach materials
Conduct research and analysis related to site context, precedent projects, materials, codes, and design standards.
Assist with field visits and site documentation, including photo logs, field notes, and preparation of figures and graphics for project deliverables
Participate in limited field activities, which may include biological resource delineation and mapping, habitat assessments, or other field tasks
Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training if required for specific tasks or sites
Support interdisciplinary coordination by updating documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc.
