Summary
Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. Each week, you will be exposed to different leaders and aspects of the line of business. You will have the opportunity to complete projects that will help you understand the day-to-day operations of a bank and develop a well-rounded skillset. Additionally, you will have the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the program, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon.
Work schedule and number of hours worked per week (minimum: 15 - 25 hours) are flexible, within normal business hours.
The Intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day duties of the Corporate Properties & Procurement, Property Programs and Services members, including:
- Support end-to-end corporate property transaction execution (buy, sell, lease, sublease) by organizing deal files, tracking critical dates, coordinating due diligence, and preparing routing packages for approvals.
- Assist with lease abstraction and system updates by capturing key terms, options, expirations, and financial obligations; maintain data accuracy in the lease administration database.
- Build and maintain portfolio tracking and reporting (Excel/Power BI/Tableau), including pipeline dashboards, critical date calendars, expirations, occupancy summaries, and project status reports.
- Perform financial analysis to support decisions and prepare concise decision memos for leadership.
- Collect, cleanse, and normalize portfolio data (square footage, headcount, utilization, cost per seat, operating expenses, capital spend) and implement quality checks to improve data integrity.
- Contribute to the First Horizon portfolio optimization project by consolidating metrics, developing location and utilization insights, and preparing planning materials and presentations for leadership reviews.
- Conduct market research (asking rents, sale comps, sublease availability, landlord concessions, operating cost trends) and summarize insights to inform transaction strategy.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to route documents, track approvals, and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare executive-ready materials (summaries, maps, schedules, and narrative write-ups) and maintain an organized SharePoint/Teams repository for audit-ready documentation.
- Support project planning and governance by maintaining timelines, meeting notes, action logs, and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) registers, while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards.
