Responsibilities:Your Impact
As a Revenue & Technical Accountant at MSA, you will play a key role in supporting our global business by ensuring accurate, compliant, and insightful accounting across both recurring revenue processes and broader technical accounting areas. You will partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate complex transactions, support financial reporting, and contribute to ongoing process and system improvements. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys combining analytical problem-solving with technical research, and who’s excited to help modernize and automate accounting workflows in a global environment.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with business and finance teams to support both revenue-related and broader operational accounting needs across MSA’s global footprint.
- Assist in developing and maintaining models that ensure proper U.S. GAAP accounting treatment for recurring and non‑routine transactions.
- Perform monthly and quarterly analytical procedures to validate revenue results and overall financial accuracy.
- Support automation and system enhancement efforts designed to streamline manual processes.
- Prepare and support internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance and documentation.
- Conduct accounting research and assist with the preparation of supporting materials for 10‑Q/10‑K disclosures.
- Learn core accounting and internal control processes and contribute by identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in special projects involving new business initiatives impacting accounting and revenue streams.
What You Bring
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Ability to analyze complex transactions, perform technical accounting research, and articulate accounting conclusions clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
- Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting topics to both financial and non‑financial partners.
- Continuous improvement mindset with interest in automation, efficiency, and systems transformation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Intermediate I: 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Intermediate II: 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Preferred:
- Public accounting experience or accounting experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SAP (including SAP RAR or similar recurring revenue modules) and/or Oracle EPM.
- CPA certification earned or in progress.
