Casualty Insurance Adjuster- Bodily Injury Claims

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking an experienced Bodily Injury/Casualty Claims Representative to investigate, evaluate and settle complex bodily injury claims.

Position will be filled at the appropriate level based on experience. Salary ranges from $70,680 - $79,500.

What You'll Do:

• Achieve the best possible settlement for bodily injury claims by examining and negotiating bodily injury files including complex cases.

• Advise management on the status of the most complex claim cases by presenting briefs on claims and coverage questions in compliance with Watch List procedures and to the Claim Committee when appropriate.

• Assure that claims are being processed timely and accurately by performing periodic audits of processed claims. Ensure that adequate reserves for claims are maintained by reviewing all open cases every 90 days.

• Improve the accuracy and efficiency of the department by informing employees of company policy, rules, procedures and applicable changes. Keep current with case law, regulations, rules of civil procedure, and contract interpretation in states within the region.

• Work in cooperation with adjusters to ensure compliance with Claims Best Practices and collaborate on field work required.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• College degree or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant experience required.

• Excellent communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to negotiate and cope with stressful situations.

• You must have strong organizational skills and be able to meet critical deadlines.

• Strong computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.

• You must be a self-starter and enjoy working independently.
