Inpatient Psychiatrist Highlights
• The pay for this position is $240,000 – $350,000 per year , depending on location and experience.
• Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM schedule
• Onsite position
• This position is a Direct Hire opportunity.

Responsibilities
• Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patients within an inpatient correctional healthcare setting.
• Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological evaluations for patients.
• Participate in civil commitment proceedings when appropriate for patients being released from custody.
• Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric mid-level practitioners as assigned.
• Conduct and participate in due process proceedings related to voluntary admissions and compelled psychoactive medication.
• Participate in psychiatry quality improvement and quality management programs.
• Provide emergency psychiatric call coverage when required.
• Work collaboratively with utilization review and care management processes.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and reporting structures.
• Complete additional related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
• Work is performed within a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center environment .
• Security clearance and pre-employment drug screening are required.

Requirements
• Current license to practice medicine from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners .
• Eligibility for Board Certification in Psychiatry .
• Current DEA controlled substances registration .
• Ability to work within a structured correctional healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of psychiatric experience .
• Experience utilizing digital medical systems .
