The City of Torrance is recruiting for an Information Technology Specialist to be part of the
Information Technology Team!
The Department
The Information Technology Department is responsible for the administration of the City's information and communications systems and infrastructure. Services include the planning, procurement, delivery, maintenance and training which support the business functions of City departments through technology. The Information Technology department's responsibilities include computer hardware systems, data and telecomm infrastructure, data management, information security, radio and wireless communications, software and applications, telephone and voice systems.
The Position
The City of Torrance is seeking a driven Information Technology Specialist to join the Communications and Customer Support division of the IT team. Under general supervision, this position provides first level technical support for all City departments. The Information Technology Specialist installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots endpoint devices and related equipment, supports users citywide by managing IT services requests and resolving technical issues, maintains the City’s IT asset inventory, supports system updates, application deployments, system reimaging, and mass deployment activities, and performs related work as required.

HOURS:
This position requires flexibility as the Information Technology Specialist may be required to work at times other than regularly scheduled hours including evenings and weekends to perform system back-ups and to assist in resolving operational problems.
