Overview

We put people first-our employees, their families, and our customers. As an IT Manager at Fort Novosel, you will lead the IT Department supporting the USAWOCC, ensuring secure, reliable IT systems for over 2,800 students, 110 cadre members, and 945+ automation systems.

This role requires a technically proficient and highly experienced leader to manage enterprise IT operations, oversee lifecycle replacements, enforce cybersecurity policies, and guide a dynamic workforce. Occasional after-hours support may be required to maintain operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

IT Leadership & Department Management

  • Lead daily IT operations, ensuring uninterrupted support for staff and students.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and strategic goals.
  • Attend government meetings and provide technical briefings.
  • Maintain staffing to ensure operational continuity and workforce stability.

Systems & Infrastructure Oversight

  • Ensure functionality of 945+ automation systems and 15 DMUC devices.
  • Oversee upgrades, maintenance, and Life Cycle Replacement (LCR) initiatives using CHESS.
  • Manage Windows group permissions, Active Directory accounts, printers, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Write and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for Windows 11 and Office 365.

Proactive IT Management & Compliance

  • Manage IT asset inventory, warranty tracking, and lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, and DD Form 254.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, access, and maintenance.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical incidents.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as liaison between leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Participate in planning sessions to address evolving IT requirements.
  • Ensure smooth IT operations across classrooms, offices, and admin areas.

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • CompTIA Security+ required; PMP preferred.
  • 12+ years of IT/Project Management experience, ideally in DoD/federal environments.
  • Active U.S. SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with Windows group permissions, Active Directory, printers, hardware/software repair.
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting PowerShell scripts for Windows 11 and Office 365.
  • Experience managing Life Cycle Replacement (LCR) and warranty processes.
  • Commitment to workforce continuity (first right of refusal for hiring).

Preferred:

  • TRADOC or Army educational IT experience.
  • DMUC device management and classroom technology integration.
  • Knowledge of NEC coordination and enterprise IT governance.
