Job Description:

We are seeking an Anaplan Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade connected planning solutions. You will translate business strategy into modular Anaplan architectures, guide model builders, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable value through best-practice models, integrations, and user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture and Design

  • Own end-to-end Anaplan architecture across one or more domains (e.g., FP&A, Sales Performance/T&Q/ICM, Workforce Planning, Demand/S&OP, Inventory).
  • Translate business capabilities and processes into target-state model designs, including hub-and-spoke patterns, dimensionality, and data flows.
  • Define model schemas (lists, hierarchies, modules, line items) with a focus on performance, sparsity management, and maintainability.
  • Design secure, intuitive experiences in Anaplan UX (boards, worksheets, management reporting) aligned to user personas and decision cycles.
  • Establish and enforce design standards: naming conventions, calculation logic patterns, summary methods, and time/version strategies.

Delivery and Governance

  • Lead solution workshops, process mapping, story writing, and backlog prioritization using The Anaplan Way and/or Agile frameworks.
  • Oversee model quality through design reviews, model map analysis, formula optimization, and performance testing.
  • Define and manage ALM: model schemas, revision tags, deployment pipelines, and segregation of duties across Dev/Test/Prod.
  • Create and maintain solution documentation (architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, integration specs, user guides).
  • Partner with the CoE to operationalize governance, release management, and reusability (building blocks, UDLs, standards).

Data and Integration

  • Lead source-to-target mapping, master data strategy, and data quality controls.
  • Architect integrations using CloudWorks, Anaplan Connect, APIs, and/or iPaaS (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica).
  • Collaborate with data platform teams (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce; Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse) to enable resilient, auditable pipelines.
  • Implement security best practices: SSO/SAML, DCA, selective access, roles, and auditability.

Stakeholder Engagement and Change

  • Facilitate decision-making with finance, operations, sales, IT, and executive stakeholders; translate between business and technical teams.
  • Drive change management, training, and adoption; plan and execute UAT and hypercare.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to project leadership.

Leadership and Mentoring

  • Mentor model builders and analysts on design standards, performance optimization, and governance.
  • Contribute to or lead an Anaplan Center of Excellence (standards, accelerators, training).
  • Pre-sales/Advisory (as applicable)
  • Support business cases, roadmaps, and value assessments; contribute to RFPs, PoVs, and solution demos.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6 years in enterprise planning/EPM or connected planning; 3 years hands-on Anaplan; 1–2 years in an architect/lead role.
  • Proven track record delivering at least [2–3] end-to-end Anaplan implementations at enterprise scale.
  • Certifications: Anaplan Level 2 Model Builder required; Anaplan Solution Architect certification strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Anaplan best practices: dimensional design, sparsity reduction, formula optimization, summary strategies, time/version management, UX design, and security (DCA, selective access).
  • Hands-on experience with ALM and lifecycle management across Dev/Test/Prod.
  • Integration experience with at least one of: CloudWorks, Anaplan Connect, REST API, or iPaaS tools.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills; ability to lead workshops and drive consensus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
