Industrialization Support Technician

The Industrialization Support Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, management, and repair of test equipment, while also supporting the development of new equipment and providing documentation and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day production line tools and equipment, including:

    • Receiving and responding to equipment support requests through the ticketing system

    • Managing reference boards

    • Calibrating equipment and performing preventive maintenance according to established schedules

    • Updating equipment maintenance records and related documentation in accordance with internal industrialization standards

    • Managing on-hand spare parts inventory for equipment

    • Updating equipment as needed for new product part numbers or version changes

  • Support IT with equipment and computer upgrades during network policy or system changes

  • Provide remote support to external parts suppliers using company equipment, including troubleshooting and repair assistance

  • Regularly gather feedback from operators regarding equipment ease of use and reliability

  • Perform minor equipment modifications to improve functionality

  • Recommend larger design improvements to the Industrialization Design team and collaborate on implementation

  • Support the transfer of manufacturing lines for existing products, including:

    • Building clones of existing equipment as needed

    • Preparing and executing test plans to validate cloned equipment

    • Setting up tools and equipment and verifying proper operation

    • Leading beta runs in collaboration with other departments to validate new production lines

    • Providing training and operational support for tools and equipment

  • Support New Product Development (NPD), including:

    • Assisting the Industrialization Design team in the development of new equipment

    • Supporting beta and pilot runs

  • Collaborate with other departments, including Operations and Quality, to improve process efficiency as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

Education
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, or

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience

Technical Competencies

  • Basic mechanical skills required

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and relate them to PCB layouts required

  • Ability to read and interpret code required

  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems required

  • Strong written communication skills required, with the ability to clearly document troubleshooting, modifications, and equipment improvements

  • Strong verbal communication skills required, including proactively communicating updates to other departments

  • Ability to take and maintain clear meeting notes and documentation

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter in a hands-on environment

  • Strong organizational skills, including maintaining an orderly work environment both physically and digitally

  • Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to support multiple efforts simultaneously

IT Skills

  • Basic computer skills required, including:

    • Ability to install and modify software applications and related drivers

    • Strong understanding of Windows file structure and the ability to troubleshoot file-related issues

  • Knowledge of registry settings, networks, domains, and related IT concepts is a plus

Language Skills

  • English required

  • French is a plus

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong initiative, both independently and in team settings

  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn through hands-on exploration, documentation review, and problem-solving

  • Ability to seek knowledge proactively by engaging with colleagues and mentors and asking thoughtful questions

  • Strong listening skills and ability to absorb and apply new information
