POSTION SUMMARY:

Fabrication Products has immediate opening for a swing shift Industrial Painter to join our team. We’re looking for a hardworking individual who enjoys meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to efficiently carry out paint related duties and tasks in a professional, workmanship like manner within timeframes prescribed and delegated by the Lead Painter.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform job tasks keeping safety first.
  • Willing to be flexible with work hours, departments, and schedules.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy and a team player.
  • Self-assess work and use good judgment to ensure that finished product meets quality requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and strong attention to detail.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations Attention to detail
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing, if necessary, with co-workers, maintenance, supervisors, and inspectors
  • Capable of working in a high paced environment
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Previous painting/sandblasting experience a must.
  • Able to work Swing Shift

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

  • Prefer High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle tools and equipment in a safe and sensible manner.
  • Formal training course in painting is an asset.
  • Have an understanding of preparation procedures (i.e. blasting, sanding, caulking, sealing, etc.).
  • Must show an ability to learn or willing to learn all painting functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Be able to lift 70 pounds and more
  • Have knowledge of the proper use of scaffolding, paint sprayer and all the tools of the trade we use.
  • Have knowledge of tasks that include, but are not limited to:
  • Taping off
  • Prepping surface for paint
  • Mixing paint
  • Hauling paint
  • Ability to discriminate between colors, matching or detecting any difference between colors they work with.
  • Basic mechanical skills
