Industrial Engineer III

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel: Up totravel to Canada
Assignment Length: 12-month contract (likely to extend to 2 years)

Requirements

  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Senior-level Industrial Engineering experience with plant-wide initiatives

  • Experience with ramp-up and ramp-down operations

  • Strong experience conducting time studies and identifying process gaps

  • Experience integrating new technology and manufacturing processes at a plant level

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping

  • Experience launching new products, new processes, or plant layout changes

  • Ability to determine resources, materials, labor, and time requirements for new processes

  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage high-visibility projects

Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer III will support a major transformation project at a facility that rebuilds engines and is undergoing a large operational revamp. This role will help redesign plant layouts, integrate new technology, and improve manufacturing processes across the facility. The ideal candidate has experience leading large-scale manufacturing improvements and plant-wide operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Design

  • Assist with the design, improvement, and implementation of integrated manufacturing systems involving people, materials, equipment, and information

  • Develop standard work methods for new and existing production lines

  • Design safe and efficient workstations using ergonomic and plant layout principles

Operational Improvement

  • Conduct time studies and work measurement analysis to optimize workflow and productivity

  • Perform line balancing to improve efficiency and meet changing production demands

  • Use Lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools to reduce waste and improve performance

Plant Layout & Process Engineering

  • Design or modify manufacturing process layouts to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time

  • Integrate equipment, production flow, and facility requirements into optimized plant layouts

  • Utilize digital tools and simulation models to analyze manufacturing processes and support decision-making

Analysis & Cost Evaluation

  • Perform cost analysis for make vs. buy decisions for components and sub-assemblies

  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities and support engineering decisions

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership

  • Support a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
