Industrial Engineer – Automated Manufacturing (Direct Hire)

The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment, a passion for process optimization, and hands-on experience in automated or high-tech manufacturing environments. You’ll collaborate closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure production lines run with precision, consistency, and maximum efficiency.
- Analyze automated assembly workflows, line balance, and workstation performance.
- Evaluate cycle times, throughput, capacity, yield, downtime, and quality metrics to enhance equipment and labor utilization.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem-solving methods.
- Design and recommend optimized equipment layouts, material flows, and workstation configurations for new or improved lines.
- Support automation upgrades, new technologies, and optimization of automated assembly cells.
- Lead or participate in Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and visualize production data; prepare reports that drive operational and leadership decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to implement and sustain improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production teams to reinforce standardized work and best practices.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by optimizing manufacturability from early design through scaled production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering.
- Experience with automated assembly, robotics, or electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and workflow-optimization skills (time studies, process mapping, etc.).
- Proficiency with statistical analysis, Excel, and data visualization tools.
- Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
