- Keep LFS in compliance with US Customs regulations in relation to all Imports and Exports
- Manage import entries with freight forwarders and customs brokers for accurate payment of duties and compliant entry filing.
- Maintain accurate files for Import and export shipments according to US Customs regulations.
- Monitor and update C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program with US Customs, for more timely deliveries of import products.
- Submit ISF (Importer Security Filing) to US Customs for every import shipment.
- Determine the purchasing requirements for overseas vendors as well as assigned domestic suppliers.
- Execute purchase orders to foreign vendors and domestic vendors as needed.
- Review, prepare, and verify import/export documentation for accuracy, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates or origin.
- Audit paperwork for all import receiving into inventory.
- Create and maintain SOPs for import and export compliance programs for LFS.
- Maintain close working relationships with all foreign vendors.
- Stay updated on changing import/export regulations and trade agreements.
- Provide guidance to internal teams regarding trade regulations and company policies.
Pay range for this position is $25-$30 per hour.
This is an in-office position at our corporate office in Bellingham, WA.
This is a full time, 40 hours per week, year-round benefited position.
Minimum Requirements:
Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)
- International Trade Compliance Certification (ITCC)
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or related field
- 2-3 years in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage.
- Deep understanding of HTS codes, NAFTA/USMCA, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
Preferred education and experience
- Experience with C-TPAT program with US Customs.
- 3-5 years in trade compliance, logistics, or custom brokerage
- Experience with submitting ISF to US Customs
Work environment: Office environment, the noise level in the work environment is typically low.
Physical demands:
